When most people hear the name "Staten Island," their initial thoughts may include small, crowded, or even just a drive-through borough to get to New Jersey. But what most people don't know about are the unexpected treasures of Staten Island that may seem hidden to people who don't live there. In fact, Staten Island is the home to many beautiful parks and beaches, has a thriving music scene, has great historical sites to visit and many other characteristics that attract outsiders to the borough.
