Those two words sum up how i felt about Heiner Muller's Quartett. After a weeks worth of anticipatory class room discussion based on texts, I was looking forward to seeing the beast itself live on stage.

At first it was a bit jarring, and I struggled to make sense of it all between the captions and all the eccentric activity on stage.

http://macaulay.cuny.edu/seminars/bergman09/content/quartett-0#comments baruch nyc Ross theater Sun, 22 Nov 2009 01:09:18 +0000 Ross Meneses 388 at http://macaulay.cuny.edu/seminars/bergman09 Motioning into the Future http://macaulay.cuny.edu/seminars/bergman09/content/motioning-future

http://macaulay.cuny.edu/seminars/bergman09/content/motioning-future#comments nyc people and places Ross Sun, 22 Nov 2009 00:38:47 +0000 Ross Meneses 386 at http://macaulay.cuny.edu/seminars/bergman09 Subways http://macaulay.cuny.edu/seminars/bergman09/content/subways
I love subways. From the graffiti coated hulks of decades past, to the sleek, energy efficient models of today, every subway has a story to tell. Ever since I was a child I've been fascinated with the city and the seemingly infinite amount of possibilities that are presented here every day. New Yorkers have the extraordinary ability to to leap from lily pad to lily pad, each time soaking up a new experience. At the heart of this ability are the subways. My favorite, and most defining aspect of living in New York City is that people can re-invent yourself every time they walk out the door.

http://macaulay.cuny.edu/seminars/bergman09/content/subways#comments nyc Ross writing Sun, 08 Nov 2009 18:32:42 +0000 Ross Meneses 314 at http://macaulay.cuny.edu/seminars/bergman09 A Day at the Hall http://macaulay.cuny.edu/seminars/bergman09/content/day-hall
How many first semester college students can say that they have had a sit down conversation with the creative director of Carnegie Hall? It was not long before Mr.

http://macaulay.cuny.edu/seminars/bergman09/content/day-hall#comments nyc Ross Mon, 02 Nov 2009 04:09:59 +0000 Ross Meneses 294 at http://macaulay.cuny.edu/seminars/bergman09 Yoga to the People http://macaulay.cuny.edu/seminars/bergman09/content/yoga-people
For two weeks now I have been going to Yoga to the People right by Astor Place.
