Snapshot at Macaulay

Last week we were asked to attend Snapshot Day at Macaulay Honors College, and to be quite honest I wasn't exactly excited to attend. My scheduled time was at 9 in the morning on a Sunday, which seemed to be unnecessarily early at the time. Well when I arrived, I couldn't remember who my group was during orientation, so I just formed a group with friends instead. We were asked to make a video using pictures from snapshot day, we weren't given much direction so my group and I decided just to make a video about the 5 boroughs.

House of The Dead

I had never been to an Opera before, so naturally I assumed it would be similar to how it is portrayed in movies and television. I was in for a shock when the Opera actually began. The first thing that caught me off guard was the number of people on stage, it may sound weird to some but I always imagined a scene in an Opera with only one or two people, no more.

Markers Exhibit

For our IDC presentation, my group and I were assigned the Markers exhibit in Madison Square Park. To be completely honest, I have passed by Madison Square Park tons of times but I had never noticed the exhibit before ! So when I went to view them, I was genuinely surprised by what I saw. The color of each of the sculptures contrast with the greenery around them and at first you don't really know what to make of the sculptures. Weirdly enough I thought of animals, then I thought of shapes, and then I decided just to read the description.

Independent Visit #2: New York Historical Society Abraham Lincoln Exhibit

This past tuesday I went to the New York Historical Society to view the Abraham Lincoln and John Brown exhibits. Well for starters, the exhibit is super big and if you plan on going, look to spend at least two hours there. I was completely fascinated by the exhibit and I thought it was not only well organized but extremely informative. It goes chronologically so as you walk, the exhibit explains to you what is happening throughout the years.
