Seeing as I had to be at the school by 9am , I expected some significant tasks to be presented. However, for the most part I found that the event was unorganized. To begin, there were no clear groups formed, instead it was up to the individual to make the group. Next, there was no clear leader who directed the students or really explained what was to be done. Everyone seemed to be going around with their own business.

http://macaulay.cuny.edu/seminars/bergman09/content/snapshot-galley-macaulay#comments maxilia who we are Sun, 13 Dec 2009 23:30:08 +0000 maxilia 475 at http://macaulay.cuny.edu/seminars/bergman09 Snaphot Exhibit at Macaulay http://macaulay.cuny.edu/seminars/bergman09/content/snaphot-exhibit-macaulay
The event was a success! This was different from any other event we've attended because we were the featured artists. It was fun to see the photographs that my classmates presented in class be put on display. I was also looking for my photograph in the collection and was excited when I spotted it. The pictures were categorized based on subject. I was surprised to see so many similiar photographs. There were many pictures featuring New York City nightlife. The bright lights, tall buildings, and beautiful landscape was a good depiction of the neighborhood I relate to.

http://macaulay.cuny.edu/seminars/bergman09/content/snaphot-exhibit-macaulay#comments hannah lee nyc arts who we are Sat, 12 Dec 2009 23:19:53 +0000 hlee 473 at http://macaulay.cuny.edu/seminars/bergman09 Individual Visit #3: Trip to the MoMA http://macaulay.cuny.edu/seminars/bergman09/content/individual-visit-3-trip-moma
Who is Timothy Walter Burton? Primarily known as a filmmaker, he is an artist who taps into the fantasy world. His works know no boundaries. Stepping into the creature's mouth, the entrance to his exhibit at the MoMA, I was taken into the Burton universe. There were sculptures, drawings, and paintings that illustrate his talent as an artist beyond the big screen. There were little alien creature sculptures with many eyes. There was a boy with nails in his eyes. It was a bit gruesome-looking, but I couldn't avert my gaze. This was true of many of the pieces at the exhibit.

http://macaulay.cuny.edu/seminars/bergman09/content/individual-visit-3-trip-moma#comments hannah lee who we are Sat, 12 Dec 2009 22:43:30 +0000 hlee 472 at http://macaulay.cuny.edu/seminars/bergman09 SNAPSHOT @ Macaulay http://macaulay.cuny.edu/seminars/bergman09/content/snapshot-macaulay-0
Although many people didn’t like the Snapshot day at the Macaulay Honors building, I personally enjoyed it. I had the chance to meet and bond with the initial friends I made in the three orientation days from the different campuses earlier in the year. I do have to agree that the assignment was vague and unclear for some parts; however, it made it more challenging in the sense that we had to use our creativity even more so. We talked for a long time about how everyone was and went straight to work.

http://macaulay.cuny.edu/seminars/bergman09/content/snapshot-macaulay-0#comments nyc nyc arts people and places who we are Fri, 11 Dec 2009 20:32:42 +0000 im.mattlaw 471 at http://macaulay.cuny.edu/seminars/bergman09 Gallery Exhibit: SNAPSHOT http://macaulay.cuny.edu/seminars/bergman09/content/gallery-exhibit-snapshot
After my first initial negative reaction to Snap Shot Day at Macaulay, I have calmed down. I was upset because I felt the event was organized poorly. I also felt as though they just wanted us to use our flip cams and Mac lab top applications rather then use our real creativity. I for one am not particularly creative on a Sunday morning. Since I work all day Saturdays, I love sleeping in on Sundays. So I suppose most of my disappointment came from the fact that I had to wake up so early.

http://macaulay.cuny.edu/seminars/bergman09/content/gallery-exhibit-snapshot#comments sara who we are Thu, 10 Dec 2009 22:57:00 +0000 sarasanders 468 at http://macaulay.cuny.edu/seminars/bergman09 American Folk Art Museum http://macaulay.cuny.edu/seminars/bergman09/content/american-folk-art-museum
Last week a couple of us wanted to go to the MoMa to see the Tim Burton exibit. Who would have thought that the MoMA would be closed on Tuesdays? We were all shocked by the sign that was planted outside the museum indicating that it was not open. I was definitly disappointed because I had hoped to see the Tim Burton exhibit that everyone was raving about. I caught a glimpse of it during our class tour of the MoMA. I told myself that I would return to see the exhibit.

http://macaulay.cuny.edu/seminars/bergman09/content/individual-visit-2-trip-american-folk-art-museum#comments hannah lee who we are Tue, 08 Dec 2009 08:49:56 +0000 hlee 464 at http://macaulay.cuny.edu/seminars/bergman09 Snapshot Macaulay http://macaulay.cuny.edu/seminars/bergman09/content/snapshot-macaulay
The snapshot exhibit at the Macaulay building and the video activity was really fun.
