How to Create Footnotes

1) First, tell the reader where to look for the footnotes by editing the page and placing a heading at the bottom of the page that says ==References==. (The equal signs are what makes it a heading, you recall)

2) Beneath that heading, place a marker that tells the wiki where to place the footnotes. You do this by typing the following on the line below the notes heading: <references/>

3) Finally, just after the sentence in your main body text where you would like to create a footnote, enclose your full citation within <ref> and </ref> tags, so it looks like this:

According to scientists, Hunter College is pretty cool.<ref>M. Ali, (New York: Academic Press, 2008), 110-112.</ref>

And the wiki automatically create the footnote.

Below is an example of how your citation will look in action.
