Welcome to Chinatown NYC: Chinese Immigration & NYC
The Peopling of New York City: Chinese Communities is the culmination of a semester-long study of Chinese-Americans in New York City. We worked together as a group in Dr. Gardner's Seminar 2 course at the Macaulay Honors College, and dedicated ourselves to the in-depth study of various neighborhoods where the Chinese populations are concentrated. We focused on Chinatown in Manhattan, Flushing in Queens, and Sunset Park/ 8th Avenue in Brooklyn. Each of these neighborhoods has a unique history and demography that overlaps with each of the other neighborhoods.
