Healthcare services include not only medical services - such as hospitals and clinics- but also dental, pharmaceutical, and even nursing homes for the elderly. Morningside Heights healthcare services include St. Luke's Hospital, Amsterdam Nursing Home, Harlem Hospital Center, New York Presbyterian, and various dental care clinics.

St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital

St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital is a part of Continuum Health Partners. Continuum Health Partners is part of a non-profit hospital care system which offer a full range of treatments using the latest technologies available. The other four Partners include Beth Israel Medical Center, Roosevelt Hospital, Long Island College Hospital, and The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.

St. Luke's-Roosevelt was formed in 1979 by a merger of St. Luke's Hospital, which was located near Columbia University, and The Roosevelt Hospital, which was located near Columbus Circle. The St. Luke's (1846) and Roosevelt Hospitals (1871) brought to their merger extraordinary highs because of its contributions in research. It is a 1,076 bed community and tertiary care hospital. Now more than ever, St. Luke's-Roosevelt caters to everyone regardless of social and economic challenges. By working closely with William F. Ryan Community Health Center, Council Health Center, and school based clinics in area high schools and Columbia University, St. Luke's-Roosevelt is better able to cater to the people with economic challenges.
