Thanks for making my trip to Ellis Island so memorable. I have been working on my page and see also that a number of your have not been working on yours. Next week we go to the African Burial Ground and I will send an e-mail about it. We have a Class Projects Page now with which to experiment. We should put the constantly changing syllabus up as well as class notes and collaborative project conclusions. I'll try my best to get your names and faces together. I know I am hardly recognizable from the photo I put up of myself in the 1970s but some of the ones you put up on your personal page are almost disguises. You also should be talking to each other about doing the "Class Wiki Project." I have given you some ideas, but I assume you have your own as well which might be even better. Maybe we can devote a whole class to a discussion and start working on it. The students who missed the trip have to do it on their own. since we went to ellis island, you might want to visit The Statue of Liberty and do some photography and video there for the class, especially if you have been to Ellis Island before. Another idea I have is for you to do a photo or video of your neighborhood for the project to add dimension to the census data. Prof. K.
