There is an astounding thirty bars in Park Slope. Two are lesbian bars, which include Cattyshack (249 4th Avenue), and Ginger's (363 5th Avenue). There is one gay bar called Excelsior (390 5th Avenue) as a well as one gay and lesbian bar, Lucky 13 Saloon (273 13th Street).

In addition, there are five Irish pubs, which include Black Sheep Pub (428 Bergen Street), Cherry Tree (65 4th Avenue), Harry Boland's Pub (297 9th Street), Mooney's Pub (353 Flatbush Avenue), and Park Slope Ale House (356 6th Avenue).

There are nineteen bars on Fifth Avenue alone, which include Bar Reis (375), Buttermilk Bar (577), Commonwealth (497), Down South (125), Excelsior (390), Ginger's (363), Great Lakes (284), Jackie's Fifth Amendment (404), Lighthouse Tavern (243), Loki Lounge (304), Lola's Jazz Cafe (613), O'Connor's (39), Puppet's Jazz Bar (294), Royale (506), Southpaw (125), The Gate (321), Timboo's (477), Total Wine Bar (74), Voodoo Sports Lounge (138).

This unbelievable amount of bars in only 2.3 square miles accommodates the 25,200 residents above the age of 24, not to mention the out-of-towners that visit Park Slope. 15,425 people that live in Park Slope are between the ages of 25 and 44. The presence of several gay and lesbian bars is representative of the gay and lesbian community there.
