Paul Goldberg is a leading economics professor at Brooklyn College. During the 1970s, he was an undergraduate at Queens College. In fact, he was a student of one of the last CUNY undergraduate classes that graduated with free tuition. Mr. Goldberg continued his education at Columbia University. Just like many other New Yorkers in the 1970s, Mr. Goldberg considered the city to be unsafe and in urban decay. Thus he chose to move to New Jersey to get out of the city.  Mr. Goldberg provided sound analysis of many of the long-term causes of the fiscal crisis and the fiscal decisions taken by the city to help us recover.
