Tony Wallace is a Vietnam War veteran. He currently works for Con Edison and has ever since the late 60s. Mr. Wallace spoke in great detail about the social conditions of New York City during the 1970s and the impact the blackout of 1977 had on New York City. Mr. Wallace spoke of the racial turbulence and the rising crime rates in the city. Mr. Wallace spoke of how many parts of New York City, such as Bushwick, Williamsburgh, Bedford-Stuyvesant, and Crown Heights, never recovered from the rioting that occured during the 1977 blackout. We thank Mr. Wallace very much for taking the time to speak to us.
