Where do you live? Currently I reside in a neighborhood called Ocean Parkway, which is right in between Coney Island and Brighton Beach.

How do you answer the question, "Where are you from?" I usually explain that I was born in what is now known as Ukraine, but that, when I was born, it was still part of the Soviet Union.

Where else have you lived? Although I was born in Ukraine, I only lived there for a little over a year since I moved, with my family, to the States when I was one-and-a-half, so I consider that I spent my entire life in Brooklyn.

My Education Where did you go to elementary, middle, and high school? I attended P.S.100 for elementary school, Mark Twain for the Gifted and Talented for middle school, and Brooklyn Technical High School for high school. These are all schools in Brooklyn.

What languages do you speak? I am fluent in both English and Russian.

My Interests in NYC What cultural interests do you pursue in New York City? I love Broadway. I think that live theater is an amazing and learning experience. More so than movie, theater is an interactive performance and so works to both inform and entertain.

What are your favorite places to go in NYC? Shopping in the city is quite an experience because there is no culture that can be left out. This summer I went to Ukraine and bought many souvenirs for my friends. Upon returning, I noticed a small shop that had every item that I had bought. My conclusion is that souvenirs from other countries are unnecessary because NYC has it all. And so, I love all places in NY because each community has its own history, which can be portrayed through its shopping.
