Benjamin Reichman ’21 is a graduating Computer Engineering Major at CCNY. During his time at CCNY he conducted AI research in various labs. He worked as a research fellow at the National Institute of Standards and Technology on AI for emergency situations, at the CCNY Media Lab on medical image processing, and at MIT CSAIL on researching the use of AI for video anonymization. During his undergraduate career he published several scientific papers and abstracts and also received the Goldwater Scholarship and an NSF GRFP Honorable Mention. In the Fall he starts a Ph.D. in Machine Learning at Georgia Tech.
In addition to research, Benjamin devoted his time to organizing hackathons and tutoring fellow students. He led the organization of The CUNY Hackathon 2019 and 2021 with the backing of CUNY, Macaulay, and industry. Both attracted a combined 1,200 students across all of CUNY and led to weekends of inventing and collaboration. These efforts built a student organization that Benjamin hopes will continue organizing CUNY Hackathons to showcase student talent to industry.
