Carlos Perez Valle '21 (Lehman)

Carlos Pérez Valle ’21 is a Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology major with a minor in Early Childhood Education. He currently works as a Project Coordinator for the Office of Policy & Evaluation at the DOE and as a Project Researcher at the CUNY Iniative on Immigration & Education. He was a co-organizer of LCSLPs4BLM which advocated for equitable policies and practices for minoritized students at the Dept. of Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences at Lehman. A Horace W. Goldsmith scholar, his efforts also awarded him the Advocacy Award from the National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NSSLHA) Lehman Chapter,  the Speaking Out and Being Heard Award from NSSLHA, and the Susan May Wilson Price from the Lehman Dept. of Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences. In 2019, Carlos studied abroad at the Global Citizenship Alliance in Salzburg and the Danish Institute for Study Abroad at Copenhagen. He will continue his studies this Fall at McGill University with a fully-funded PhD at the Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders under the supervision of Dr. Susan Rvachew.
