From The Peopling of New York City

John was born in New York, and grew up on the Upper West Side near Columbia. As a child he studied violin and piano, as well as singing in the quasi-prestigious Cathedral Choir of St. John the Divine as a boy soprano. His teenage years were spent at Stuyvesant High School playing keyboards in jazz and rock settings, obsessively learning about cinema, and solving math problems.

John is currently pursuing a double degree in Music and Pure Mathematics at the City College of New York, and works at BlackRock Financial Management on those days he does not have class. In his spare time, he is contributing to several projects of various media, including two movies, several vocal ensembles, and a band, as well as (again) obsessively listening to and watching as much music and cinema respectively as can be done.
