Juan Olivos

From From Tevet to Iyar...

On April 29, 1989, Juan and Leticia Olivos gave birth to Juan Carlos Olivos in a little town of Puebla, Mexico. By Juan's birth, his father had already left Mexico and resided in Bronx, New York. At the age of three, Juan and his mother also began their journey towards a city of new hope and future. The family of 3, soon to became a family of four. They lived in "El Barrio", in upper Manhattan for about 2 years, until they moved to Queens. They found the neighborhood to be a lot more friendly and peaceful. At this time, Juan began his academic career, in Ms. Winner's bilingual kindergarten class. This child showed great academic promise, winning almost every award possible in Grade School. In junior high school, his greatest interest to date was introduced to him, mathematics. He never showed an innovative interest in mathematics, because the arithmetic and pre algebra done in grade school was just too easy. However, when he was presented with much harder concepts, he seemed to show an outstanding understanding and creativity. An ever since, his knowledge in the area has grown immensely, and will continue to grow until something great is discovered.

Music has also been a big influence to Juan, since he was taught guitar at the age of 8. However, he did not stop there, and learned almost every instrument available in orchestra and band. It has always been his dream to play a big show, or make a record, but only time will tell that story. He has tried almost every hobby, from skateboarding to juggling, from soccer to handball, and from sketching to graffiti. Many people call him talented, he calls himself curious. I mean, with a world of endless possibilities, why stop at one place?

The future that awaits, the romance, the struggles, the goals, and the challenges are unpredictable. He might promote his own album one day, or he might win the Nobel for a discovery in quantum physics. Regardless of the challenges or success that await him, Juan will be ready on his two feet to tackle any obstacle.
