From Queens: The Brand Residents Don't Buy

I am a Music Education major, and with any luck I might be able to pull off being a Creative Writing minor. I play viola and violin, and I write novels. I'm not published yet but I've participated in National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) for two years. In 2008 I wrote a novel over 60,000 words and last year I wrote a novella of 30,000 words. Technically the goal of NaNoWriMo is to write a 50,000 word first draft of a novel in 30 days, but to me getting any sort of draft on paper is worth more than gold. On the music end of things I am a student at the Aaron Copland School of Music, I study viola with Edward Klorman and I am going to Florence this summer to study abroad with 15 students and the director of the school of music. Hopefully one day I will be a published novelist and a middle school Orchestra teacher, and whatever else the future holds will certainly be an adventure.
