My name is Yan Davydov. I was born on June 22, 1990 in Bukhara, Uzbekistan and my family and I came to America when I was four years old. I have lived in Brooklyn, New York since then. I attended an elementary school only three blocks from home where I learned fluent English and more or less forgot much of Russian, which I intend to relearn. For Junior High School, I went to Shallow, and then I went on to New Utrecht High School. In High School, I participated in several student productions as either a stage crew member or cast member, all of which were some of the funnest late nights I can remember at school. I think if could I would be an actor. I didn't apply to Baruch College for acting, however. I actually applied thinking that I would major in accountancy and make some decent money, but I now want to become a high school or elementary teacher instead. I was fortunate enough to have a lot of excellent teachers throughout my life and I want to give it a chance myself. Acting's still an option so we'll see. Academically speaking, I like when assigned readings for school are good literature that strike a chord with me, and I tend to reread them soon after. If I don't like the readings, it's sort of an "in one ear and out the other" thing for me. I'm a history buff and have always loved that subject. I used to think I was good at math and then I took calculus. Some other quick facts about me are that I'm big on bike riding and watching movies. That's me in a nutshell, thanks for reading. -Yan Davydov
