Falwell and Robertson

I know we talked about this a while ago when we discussing Gender and the Apocalypse in Professor Quinby's book, but I thought its important to see it in real time. Here is an excert from the hate speech Jerry Falwell makes concerning September 11th, it is most assuredly Apocalyptic and frankly just plain scary.

here's a youtube comment to the video by user "thursdaysrecords"

"Jerry Falwell is only one of the many disgusting things "God" is stuffing back into Pandor's Box, aka religion. The Evangelical Extreme Right is the American Taliban. There is nothing good coming from either of them, only pain, suffering and legalized discrimination."

I suppose rather than writing an article-long commentary about this post I'll put out a few key points:

1) thursdaysrecords regards Jerry Falwell as a creational error, although this contradicts his doubt that God, or a Creator, exists (as evident in playing God in quotes). He views Falwell as thus independant from the influences in his society. in other words "falwell was born that way"

2) thursdaysrecords also views religion as a creational error, rather than a tool utilized by Falwell to do exploitative/discriminatory/ect things. to the User, religion is innately evil.

3) thursdaysrecords believes that the evangelical right is similar to the afghan/nw pakistan based Taliban. This comparison is rather vague, as he doesn't say anything about the Taliban other than that they cause pain and suffering and this is done through the goal of "legalized discrimination." Thus, transitive property, the evangelical right causes pain and suffering and this isdone through their goal of legalized discrimination.
