From The Peopling of New York City

Vicky.jpg

Vicky Kuo graduated from Benjamin Cardozo Cardozo High School. She is currently a freshman at the Macaulay Honors College at CCNY.

In high school, Vicky was part of the National Honor Society (ARISTA) and the art portfolio club, which taught her that perseverance plays an important role in anything you do. During her high school years, she also volunteered in the recovery room of St. John's Hospital in Queens. It gave her a realistic perspective of jobs in the medical field, which she is choosing to pursue.

Right now, Vicky is planning to major in biology and probably minor in another subject. With a major in biology, she hopes to attend medical school and become a pediatrician because of her love for little kids. This summer, she is taking a genetics class at CCNY and working as a medical assistant at the medical office of Dr. Joseph Abularrage, chairmen of pediatrics at New York Hospital Queens.

During her free time, Vicky enjoys drawing in her sketchbook, a habit that resulted from her portfolio classes in her high school years. Also she likes to take walks in the city and take pictures of scenes or people that represent NYC in a different light.
