Although the Taosit tradition is sometimes said to be less influencial in the Chinese poplution, Taosim is actually older than Buddhism, with its origin tracing back to 604 BC. There are currently about 30,000 Taoists living in the United States, and Taosim's influence on the Chinese Community is immense. From traditional herbal medicine to martial arts training to the philosophy of the Dao, Taosim is in every way intergrated into the Chinese community, although often in subtle and non-religious ways.
