I don’t really understand why all of these are coming in side-ways, because they’re upright before I upload them.

    Your photos are rotating when you upload them because your original photo, as taken by your camera, includes a command for orientation (”right top”). Even though you changed this on your computer, the change is being lost when uploading it. I downloaded a copy of the subway photo from your other post, opened it up and change its orientation horizontal to vertical then saved it under a different file name. When I re-uploaded it everything came out fine. In sum, it is not a problem with the blog, but with the information embedded in your photo. To change this you need to re-orient the photo in an an image editor like GIMP and save it under a new name.
