some notes

A few notes following up from our class today…

1- I found an umbrella in the classroom, let me know if you lost yours.

2- I appreciated your work and your time & thoughtfulness today. I am sorry that we had to go so quickly by the end. Still, setting up the room as a gallery was worth the time that it cost us, so no regrets at all there. It was great to see the room transformed.

3- For the next creative project presentation (on November 7), we will need to be mindful of time and be sure everyone gets their share. We need to have time to both experience your work and discuss what we’ve experienced. Anyone have a good idea about how to organize the next presentation?

4- Do not forget to get your ticket for the October 10 performance at Baruch. Anna-Maja, if you have any trouble getting a ticket (since you are not a Baruch student), let me know ASAP. Tickets are available at the BPAC box office, on the ground floor of the Vertical Campus, near the 25th St. entrance. For information on the performance see this link. You’ll see that I gave you some incorrect information about the instruments used in the concert!

5- You can see the plays from this week’s episodes of “365 Days/365 Plays” performed (for free) at the Rising Phoenix Repertory Theater in the East Village. For information on these performances see this link. For information on the play cycle itself visit this link.

See you next week at the Mishkin Gallery.

I bought my ticket right after class – it was no problem! I finally got my Baruch ID Card as well, so now I can enjoy the perks of being a “Baruch Student” :o )

Btw..do you know which plays we are going to watch when we go to the “365Days/365 Plays” Event? I just saw a performance of “In The Blood” by Suzan-Lori Parks, performed by the Theater Department of Brooklyn College. It was a wonderful play, and a beautiful performance – in fact, so good that I chose this for my second review! I am looking forward to the event on 11/12!

I am not sure which plays we’ll be seeing but I know they will be drawn from the 365 Days/365 Plays cycle. Probably they will be from the last month in the cycle. You can see the play of the day in the cycle here and here’s a NY TImes article on the play cycle
