Group Project: Sitting Pretty: Aesthetics and Messages in Contemporary Art

Abstract: We would like to create a website using Wet Paint to present a tour of form versus content in contemporary art in New York City. The site would contain footage of our experiences and observations of various exhibits and performances that we plan to attend. We will report at each location, objectively presenting the work, but keeping in mind the conclusion we want the class to draw from our lesson: that art can be either aesthetic or political. We would like our classmates to decide for themselves what art should be through exploring our website, and the reporting and images we post on it.
