Archibald Fisher

From The Peopling of New York City

So far Archibald Fisher was the most frustrating out of my immigrants because of ignorance on my part. When i was doing my research i kept searching for Archibald Fisher and only found infomation of Archibald Fifher. I struggled endlessly trying to figure out what the connection was between the two until finally someone told me that in the times in which Mr. Fisher lived, the "s" was printed in a way in which to me looked like an "f". After I learned this, uncovering the life of Dr. Fisher became slightly easier alhtough still very challenging.

Dr. Archibald Fisher was married to Catharina Vah Horne in New York City in 1723.(Marriage ID 2220319863))[1]. Most of the information that is avaliable about Archibald Fisher is from advertisements wrtiten after his death. One Ad demands thay anybody who has a debt to Dr. Fisher or has a debt from Dr. Fisher must come see Cornelius Fisher to settle. Also the Ad says that Dr. Fisher's belongings will be sold at the store of Garret Van Horne Fisher.[2] Another Ad annoucnced that all of Dr. Fisher's household and kitchen Furniture will be sold on Wednesday June 3, 1761 beginning at 10 AM untill all has been sold..[3]
