Israel Horsefield

From The Peopling of New York City

A search for Israel Horsefield on America's Historical Newspaper yielded no results, as did searched through all of the other databases I've used on library.nyu.edu. I was also unable to located Israel Horsefield in passenger lists or naturalization records at the New York Public Library.

A census listing from 1790 I found on Ancestry.com lists an Israel Horsefield living in Brooklyn, NY, being the head of a household containing two females, no males under the age of 18, and no slaves. It is unlikely that this refers to the Israel Horsefield mentioned in New York Burning, however it is very possible that it is his son.

There is one other Israel Horsefield who keeps turning up in searches, however he was born in the 1830s or 40s.
