From The Peopling of New York City

I searched a 100-year span on the "America's Historical Newspapers" database and came up with only one entry for Samuel Myers Cohen: Samuel Myers Cohen took out an ad in John Peter Zenger's New York Weekly Journal announcing his intent to travel to London. On September 1st, 1740 (above).

So far, Samuel Myers Cohen has proved quite elusive: the Eighteenth-Century Journals database and Accessible Archives have turned up nothing after a few attempts to search them using his name and parts thereof.

A search of Ancesty.com has returned far too many Samuel Cohen's to sort through, however there are a few pieces of data suggesting that he immigrated to the US in 1741. This seems highly unlikely, given that he had been living in New York during the winter of 1741, when the "conspiracy" fires occurred.
