The most popular date today for the end of the world seems to be December 12, 2012. Here's a troubling little number explaining why 12-21-12 is so significant, with speculations on what the day might bring. Enjoy.

Dan's right about this being the most popular end-date these days, though the date is usually said to be 12.21.2012 because of the winter solstice. I have a PBS documentary on this: "Decoding the Past: Mayan Doomsday Prophecy" and will be happy to loan it to any of you if you are interested. It's 100 minutes in length and, like many of the PBS ones, it's a repetitious blend of talking heads and sensationalistic imagery, but still pretty interesting in light of our discussions. It features, among the various experts, Daniel Pinchbeck, author of 2012, one of the books on the recommended list.
