From The Peopling of New York City
I surveyed ten students, ages 16-20, and asked them two simple questions:
1) How long have you lived on Staten Island?
2) What is your impression of Staten Island?
Some students felt very strongly about Staten Island, and were not afraid to say so. Some students gave meaningful, helpful answers. I left the answers as they were, because I wanted their honest opinions.

1) 20 years 2) It's full of rich diversity and history, of which its residents rarely seem to appreciate. It's home to a bunch of beautiful parks, interesting museums and landmarks, and with its connection to New Jersey, Brooklyn, and Manhattan, it is easy to appreciate many of the facets of New York City life.
