An Art Piece at Home

The piece of art work I am writing about is located in my own home. I really have never paid any special attention to it. The painting was simply just there for show. I never knew the meaning if it had any besides for decoration purposes. Again, this relates how I was before this class. The class really made me analyze many things around me more, espeically art works. The painting has very noticeable color contrasts. The flowers are all open and all are blooming open wide. The artist, told by my mother, is making a simple metaphor and parallel. He is saying as the flowers bloom, so, hopefully, will our prosperity. The painting has been in my house longer than I have been breathing on this planet. I specifically like the usage of the brush to paint the big pedals of the flowers. The entire plant/flower is connected. There isn't one part that is detached. The black and darker toned colors are always on the bottom of the bright colorful blooming flowers. The message I got from it is that we, like the flowers, can always suffice over the bad times, represented by the black and darker toned parts. The painting captures spring time, the beginning when flowers bloom and show their beauty. The butterfly, if you could see in the painting, also shows life and spring time in the painting. Ultimately, I really like the natural and serene feeling it brings to my house.
