Arts in NY

When I think of New York, it’s the large crowd of people, various sounds, and rowdy urban life that comes to mind. In these crowds and in the sounds of the city, art takes a natural form. When elements combine together to form a happy setting and pleasant music, they are greatly appreciated. The musicians seen in the above photograph played their instruments with smiles on their faces. People sat on the benches around them to hear them play. The musicians or artists helped make the park come alive. They gave off a great energy.

I had been making my way through the park with a friend when I heard upbeat tempos. I turned in their direction and couldn’t help but continue watching them. Their upbeat style of music blended well with the atmosphere of the park. Even among a big crowd, it was easy to hear. The park, where people of all ages can come and rest or enjoy life in general, was the perfect place to host the performance. This type of art was made to be able to be enjoyed by everyone. It was expressive, uplifting, and certainly pleasant. It could be seen and heard by all. The artists were putting themselves out there, wanting to share their music.

Art is easy to come across in all various forms throughout the city. It doesn’t always have to be put in a display case in museums or galleries. It can be found in parks, buildings, walls, and even among people. Art captures us; it’s not up to us to always try and capture it. It makes its way into our lives everyday.
