David Yurman

I cannot say that I am much of an "artsy" person. When it comes to paintings, sculptures, drawings, and various other popular forms of art, I find myself dazed and confused. However, when it comes to photography, and especially fashion, I find myself the complete opposite--mesmerized. However, there are pictures that always immediately come to mind when I think of photography beauty: David Yurman ads. Now, while I may be biased to black and white fashion photos of women, I think it is apparent that David Yurman ads possess a sexy yet suttle beauty of a woman. When viewing these ads, I almost forget the most important aspect of the picture: the jewelry Yurman is attempting to sell. The ads are so beautiful, I simply see them as a photograph, or even a portrait, of each woman captured. Advertisements may not be considered art; they are for a specific purpose and a clear meaning and are not left up to the public to decifer whey they were created. However, I feel David Yurman goes beyond the regular guidelines of an advertisement and intends to capture the intrigue of each person who views his photographs. Peter Lindbergh is the photographer for David Yurman advertisements.
