Fall for Dance-

During Fall for Dance, the last performance was my favorite, which was choreographed by Mark Morris. Firstly, I liked the gloomy and dark tone of the music in the beginning and secondly, I liked the way they moved with the music, such as when a dancer laid on the floor and dropped the left hand then the right hand then the left foot and so on accordingly to the beat of the music. Then when the music transformed from the gloomy tone to a more upbeat tone, the dance became more active itself. The dancers threw their hands up then down then left then right in a uniform arrangement, which made the dance more fun to watch altogether. After reading about Mark Morris, I understood how he based the choreography on a score sheet. He followed it step by step and one can see the movement and alignment during the dance. The dancers had straight lines, then the next moment they formed diagonals and then a circle. The movement was faster in terms of being in a modern dance, where the dancers seemed to be freer and boundless then the ballet performances earlier. Although my favorite performance was the modern dance, I also liked the previous performance by the man and the woman, which . They gave a sense of elegance and a sense of "that's what ballet is suppose to be," in my perspective, since I do not know much about ballet to begin with. Their seemingly effortless lifts and movements dazzled me. Their partnership was a great dynamic duo.
