fall for dance

I realized I never wrote about Fall for Dance which I really enjoyed ! I love to watch dance and so I was naturally excited to go see Fall for Dance. Out of all the performances, my favorite was the reinterpretation of Afternoon of a Faun dance just because I thought it was really unique and different. It was quirky and odd and I was just staring trying to figure out what it all meant. I know a lot of people thought it was homoerotic, but I saw it different I thought it was more like two fauns loving and nurturing each other regardless of gender. I really enjoyed this piece and it stood out to me compared to all the other dances we watched. I also liked the last piece by Mark Morris although it wasn't my favorite. Going to see Fall for Dance, was really cool and different from anything I have seen before. I've seen dance being performed before, but not like this. It was really nice to see something so different and examine how precisely the dancers move with the music. I love how the dancers make the whole performance seem so effortless when in reality they work tirelessly to perfect their moves. Just seeing them perform the way they did makes me want to take dance lessons and learn the same techniques they learned, but realistically becoming well-trained dancers as they are will probably take a longgggg time. Seeing this performance really makes me want to branch out and see other dance performances :) Even though Fall For Dance ended, I know that since we live in New York there will be plenty of opportunities to see other different types of dance performances and when I go I'll make sure to blog all about it !
