In class, we discussed how art was a form of self-expression. In my mind, fashion is the ultimate form of expressing one's own thoughts, beliefs, and personality trait. Rather one realizes it or not, every person on this earth has a style. People may think "I don't care ANYTHING about fashion, or having style". However, they are wrong. Style is not just about clothes. It is the way one lives, the way one carries themselves, and much more. There are those who are dignified with class, and there are those who choose are much more free and easy-going. Each is that person's style. In New York City, fashion and style is everywhere you look. From the high end retail stores to little boutiques, from models to everyday people, fashion is unescapable. New york is known as the fashion capital of the world. Here, people will show you exactly who they are in their own creative way. Some throw own a t-shirt and jeans, others throw on a formal piece to go to the grocery store. Whatever the outfit may be, that person is saying "this is me". Essentially, that is art. Someone saying this is me. Therefore, fashion stands as a greatly important art form.
