NEW YORK diversity in fashion

So today I went to brooklyn to do some much needed shopping and while i was at the mall i couldn't help but recognize how different all of us dress. Some people wear hats other people wear scarves some people wear some pretty crazy things, but all in all no one really dresses exactly the same. I thought about the reasons why we all dress differently and i suppose its because in the end fashion and how we dress is another form of art. Its a visual way to express ourselves and say something about ourselves or about the way we feel. For example, when i feel tired or exhausted and i have to go out i usually opt to wear sweatpants or a sweatshirt or when its a beautiful day outside and I'm happy i would choose to wear a dress. I think the way we feel usually shows through the way we dress. Maybe that's why we associate people with the way they dress sometimes, like how someone "punk" would dress or someone "preppy". It's really interesting to analyze when you start to think about it!

I really see fashion as an art form in a number of ways. When I'm shopping and I come across something thats completely different or unique I'm always in awe at how someone created or came up with the idea to make something so different. To me, there is something very inspiring in seeing clothes that were created and put together according to someone's vision. The clothes we see everyday actually were created and designed by someone's ideas, for some reason i find this so amazing. Like in runway shows when an fashion designer debut's his or her collection, there is something that connects each outfit with the previous one that was modeled so that the whole collection comes together and presents the vision of the fashion designer at the end. I mean how could that not be art?
