NYC Arts according to me

The new Yankee Stadium is a perfect example of art in NY.  It is an unconventional choice of art, but nonetheless the architecture of the brand new stadium cannot be categorized as less. The new stadium captures the feeling and look of the very first Yankee stadium ever built; also commonly known as the house that Ruth built. This is evident in the continual archways, which go all the way around the stadium, exactly like the very first stadium. These tall archways, allow light to flow into the stadiums great hall as well as outside, making the stadium look like the very monumental cathedral of baseball that it is. Once you stand under the Yankee Stadium, you feel it looming over you, the bright white light streaming from inside makes you feel that there’s a secret heaven hidden within, waiting for you to open the doors and discover the glory for yourself.  Apart from the light, the antique look of the stadium itself gives it a feel of judiciousness and of ancient pride, while still maintaining a feel of fresh modernity. Its as if a grandma has been resurrected from the past in the form of a youngster. The pillars within the stadium also speak of the antique similarity of the older stadium. These features add classic elegance to the stadium, which couldn’t have been captured in a better way. It reassures all New Yorkers that the Yankee organization is still in touch with its imperative history, a history that has given the Yankees its current reputation. The beauty of this colossal stadium within such an urban neighborhood speaks of art itself. With such a poverty stricken area surrounding it and the 4 train running directly next it, the Yankee Stadium looks like a sore thumb amongst a collection of index fingers. Every aspect about the stadium is so striking that it is impossible for such a sports facility to not be considered a perfect example of NY art, most importantly because of the pride that lies behind these walls and a pride that is embedded in the Yankee logo on the baseball cap of every fan that enters these doors.
