I cannot express how greatly pleased I am that we visited the International Center of Photography. Unknowing of its existence prior our visit, I can say this amazing center will be a regular destination I will visit in my contuing years. While we were taken to the International Center of Photography to see the John Woods exhibit, I was immediately captured by the overwhelming exhibit of Richard Avedon's life-spanned collections. Suprisingly, even with my interest in fashion and becoming a fashion editor, I had never heard of Richard Avedon. I am not very familiar with photographers, not even those as influential as Richard Avedon. However, after this visit, I was introduced to a man who revolutionized the "fashion photography narrative". He was the beginning of the fashion story. He introduced the very job I wish to pursue. If it weren't for this class or Dr. Bergman, I would have never heard of this photography icon. Richard Avedon truly inspires me. His works are truly beautiful and brilliant. He has become someone that I want to research and study. This by far has been the most exciting and appreciated event of my college experience by far. Thank you, Dr. Bergman, for introducing me to the International Center of Photography.
