Snaphot Exhibit at Macaulay

The event was a success! This was different from any other event we've attended because we were the featured artists. It was fun to see the photographs that my classmates presented in class be put on display. I was also looking for my photograph in the collection and was excited when I spotted it. The pictures were categorized based on subject. I was surprised to see so many similiar photographs. There were many pictures featuring New York City nightlife. The bright lights, tall buildings, and beautiful landscape was a good depiction of the neighborhood I relate to.

The task we were assigned seemed bleak at first. We had two hours to film and edit a movie based on our favorite photographs from the collection. It wasn't hard choosing the ones we liked best, but we couldn't come up with a story line. Instead, we put together a collage and added cool sound effects and nice transitions. The people in my group were fun to work with. Before we knew it, 2 hours had gone by. We gave the movie to the man in charge and all sat down to watch our finished product on the screen. Creating it was one aspect, but enjoying it with my teammates was another. We were artists and filmmakers for the day! It was a fun experience.
