Snapshot

Exactly one week ago, I had to wake up in the wee hours in the morning to attend Macaulay's Snapshot Event and the honors College. As soon as i arrived, there was a general feeling of being lost and purposelessness at the college. Many people had not arrived, and the general sense of the event was a "do it and go" kinda of thing. Therefore, I grouped up with my friends that I knew, made a small group and started filming random photographs that we liked. In the middle of the project, we decided that we would do a borough theme and then we had to guess which photographs belonged to which borough. We ended up taking really poor film and have somewhat of a half thought out theme as well. Then, we went upstairs to edit. I took on part of the role of editing, and to tell the truth, it was quite fun and I started getting very carried away by the process and the small details needing to be fixed. Finally, we had finished, and added some background music for finishing touches. All in all, I still felt like there was a lack of organization and purpose to the entire event. It was a very loose environment, and it was upsetting that people like me had to go in at 9 am on a sunday while others had to go in at 5 pm. I really didn't get much out of the event, except for having fun with editing a video, which I could've done at home. The entire event messed up my regular sunday schedule and I was not pleased.

Furthermore, I still don't even have a flipcam, so I couldn't participate in the filming part of the project.
