From The Peopling of New York City

The effects of 9/11 are still prevalent in Chinatown today. The aftermath of the tragedy still echoes in the once bustling produce markets and even in schools, clinics, libraries, churches and other community organizations. We visited a few institutions to better understand the true impact 9/11 had and what they are doing to cope with the influx of new immigrants. We found that although Chinatown has changed since 9/11, the new immigrants are breathing life into the once devastated Chinatown community.
