Brooklyn's Sunset Park Chinatown Provides a Self-Sufficient Community to Chinese Immigrants

Theme

This Community serves itself. Many residents of Brooklyn's Chinatown are new immigrants to America, adjusting to an unfamiliar environment. Many have not yet learned English so this Chinatown serves as a safety net, providing convenient services and opportunities. In the future, if Brooklyn's Chinatown progresses to become a tourist attraction, residents would begin to serve others, instead of helping their own. Right now, it is an exclusively Asian community that provides comfort and resources to its residents.
