Hebron SDA ChurchFrom The Peopling of New York CityAbout the AuthorHi, my name is Sandra Beaubrun. I am a lower sophmore enrolled in the Macaulay Honors College at Brooklyn College. I plan to double major in Political Science and English. I hope to become an immigration rights lawyer and help set up more centers that aid immigrants no matter their legal status to apply for residency, medical care, language, and employent opportunities. I am in Prof. Wills's CHC2 class: The Peopling Of New York. I can honestly say that even after living in New York for all of my life, I never knew as much as I did about New York than I do now coming out of this class. This project helped me to develop research skills that I will take on in the future. I decided to focus my project on my church because it is such a big building and I always wanted to know how the church came to be here. Completing this project opened my eyes to a world of new knowledge. Have fun, taking a walk through my building. The Photos of Hebron SDA ChurchThis page is for the pictures that detail Hebron's past and present. It shows the progress the church has made as well as the different activities that they have done and continue to do. ConclusionPresent-day Hebron SDA Church boasts a membership of over five hundred, however, it seems that the number of members that were once in Hebron will never be the same. It still host programs such as choirs, Pathfinders, Dorcas, the Diaconats/Diaconese, and so on. We who attend this church are proud of the building we worship in. It is in our opinion, the most beautiful landmark in Brooklyn, NY. To step inside Hebron, one cannot stop their eyes from glancing at the stained glass windows, high ceilings, organ that is attached to the ceiling, beautiful pews, Corinthian columns, and other characteristics that cannot be described. I hope you appreciate the history that went into this website. Thank you for taking your time to go through my building. [1] (Click on this link to see a google map of 1256 Dean Street) |
