Twiggy Re-Do

I think that Twiggy is a very important figure when it comes to the history of fashion. I think the two photos above are very different from eachother and yet very similiar. The photo on the left has hardly any color in it. Its just black, white nad grey with a little blue in the background. The main focus on the photo is Twiggy. I think the angle of the photo really draws you to her face. I think her eyes really pop in the photograph. The makeup around her eyes really make them open up. In this photo it looks like her arms are gone. I think this photograph is very tough and dark compared to the photo next to it. The photo on the right is very bright. The background is yellow and Twiggy is in an orange and silver dress. Shes actually smiling!! Shes sitting down sideways unlike the other photo that is straight on. I think she looks very approachable in the photo on the right. She looks friendly. I think these photos can exemplify how she was the "anti-woman" of that time period. Woman in the 60s were starting to open up and come out of that "house-wife" image. In the photo on the right Twiggy is showing alot of skin. Woman normally were very covered up. I think the photo on the left depicts a strong, fashionable woman. She just looks so interesting in the photo. Ads like this were not put out in magazines. The third picture is an actual cover from a magazine during the 1950s. The woman in these photos are showing no skin. One woman even has her head covered. When you look at the woman in those photos compared to the photos of Twiggy a big difference can be seen. Twiggy's photos are edgy, they depict woman in a different way then just as a housewife. It looks like the woman in the magazine covers are fake. Twiggy actually looks real. People may have bothered Twiggy for being so skinny but she was flawed. Everybody has certain flaws and her photos show that in modern ways.
