CUNY Dominican Studies Institute

The Dominican Studies Institute (DSI) at CUNY City College is an Institute dedicated to studying the Dominican Population in New York City and all over the United States. This institution is situated near Washington Heights and Inwood, which together hold the largest population of Dominican immigrants in the United States.

This academy was created in 1992 by the Council of Dominican Educators, activists, and other scholars. This place provides a large amount of scholarly works and archives to researchers and students helping them learn more about Dominican culture, lifestyle, and history as immigrants. "Through its groundbreaking research published as books and monographs, and its Archives and Library, the CUNY Dominican Studies Institute has contributed to increasing the visibility of The City College of New York and of the parent University."
