1950—China enters the Korean War
China enters the Korean War on the side of North Korea. Chinese Americans face growing suspicions about their loyalty, and some experience harassment. The U.S. government extends aid to “stranded students.” Stranded students were Chinese who were studying in the U.S. when the China became communist and who do not want to return.
