Grecia Huesca Dominguez ’12 will read Dear Abuelo, recognized as one of the Best Children’s Books of 2020 and a finalist for the Tomás Rivera Mexican American Children’s Book Award. Grecia was a 2020 Define American Immigrant Artist Fellow. Her poetry has appeared in Vogue México, Breakbeat Poets Vol. 4 LatiNext, and The Acentos Review.

Author

Grecia Huesca Dominguez is the author of the children’s book, Dear Abuelo, finalist of the Tomás Rivera Mexican American Children’s Book Award and recognized by Bank Street College of Education as one of the Best Children’s Books of 2020. She was a 2020 Define American Immigrant Artist Fellow. Her poetry has appeared in Vogue México, the Breakbeat Poets Vol. 4 LatiNext anthology, and The Acentos Review. At the age of ten, she moved from Veracruz, Mexico to the Hudson Valley where she currently resides with her daughter.

Emily LaRosa is a third-year student in the Macaulay Honors program at Brooklyn College. She is currently pursuing a BFA in Technical Theatre, as well as a minor in Classics. In addition to collegiate productions, Emily has worked at various theatres across the city, including Theatre for a New Audience, The Public Theatre, and The Gallery Players.
