For the class of 2028, CUNY standardized tests (SAT & ACT) will be optional. Here is the link to the CUNY’s website for additional information: https://www.cuny.edu/academics/testing/testing-faqs/
Macaulay Honors College seeks to admit students with leadership potential who are high achievers, intellectually curious, creative, and highly motivated.
In addition to academic performance, we evaluate prospective students using a combination of academic and personal factors, including:
- High school transcript
- Extracurricular activities
- Community service
- Personal initiative and leadership qualities
- Recommendations
- Essays
- Interviews (for some students)
We accept applications from first-time college students (incoming Freshmen). We do not accept transfer students, or anyone who has attended classes at a post-secondary institution after high school, whether or not any credit was granted.
If you applied but were not accepted to Macaulay in the past, and have not attended any other post-secondary institutions, you may apply again (except for Queens College applicants, who may not re-apply). Be sure to submit additional information and experiences that you believe make you a better candidate for admission to Macaulay.
Applicants with high school credentials and/or diplomas from any non-public correspondence school, including home-school, online school, or virtual high school, please visit the CUNY website for additional requirements.
