Macaulay Senior Sendoff

Nabiha Subzwari ’24 (Hunter) is graduating with a Bachelor’s in Biological Sciences and a minor in Japanese Language. She will be pursuing a Master’s in Public Health in Epidemiology at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.

Lauren Renzoni ’24 (Hunter) is graduating with a BA in Behavioral Neurobiology and a minor in French Language and Culture with a 3.9 GPA. Lauren will continue to work as a medical assistant and conduct research during her gap years before applying to medical school.

Royta Iftakher ’24 (Brooklyn) is graduating with a degree in Computer Science. Post-graduation, Royta will be joining CVS Health’s latest cohort for the IT Leadership Development Pipeline program. She hopes to take the opportunity to do more traveling while figuring out her grad school plans.

Julianna Miranda ’24 (Baruch) is graduating with a 3.9 GPA. Julianna is a proud manager at a sports complex and cannot wait to further use her skills to tackle the operations management field.

Leonidas Kalpaxis ’24 (City) is majoring in Mechanical Engineering. He will be interning at Bloom Energy in California this summer, conducting remote monitoring work. Leonidas will return this fall for his final semester, and he is excited for the journey ahead.

Jacqueline Liang’ 24 (Queens) is graduating with a 3.93 GPA. She is majoring in Anthropology with a minor in Business and Language Arts. Her Springboard thesis topic, “Making Urban Spaces Accessible for Migratory Birds” will be on display at the upcoming CUNY Undergraduate Research Celebration. Jacqueline will be interning at the American Museum of Natural History before going on to pursue her graduate studies.

Ava Nabatkhoran ’24 (John Jay) is graduating summa cum laude. Ava will be attending the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School in the fall. Ava is extremely grateful for these past four years at Macaulay John Jay and is very excited for the future!

Isabella C. Huang ’24 (City) will be pursuing a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering after graduating with a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering. These past two summers, she conducted polymer research at Columbia University, where she was introduced to the world of soft materials research. Isabella looks forward to conducting novel research in graduate school and beyond!

Sofia Melendez ’24 (Hunter) is graduating with a 3.9 GPA. Her dual-part thesis “Crossing the Corridor: Vincent van Gogh, the ‘Tortured Artist’, and How to Heal When the World is Against You”, conceptualized in Springboard, is getting ready to be shared with the world. They are taking a gap year to focus on personal endeavors (including expanding their art historical education project “Goghgetter”) & experience working in the art world before tackling their Master’s in Museum Studies soon after.

Pujan Patel ’24 (Baruch) is graduating with a BBA in Computer Informations Systems with a minor in Cybersecurity and a 3.9 GPA.

During his time at Baruch and Macaulay, Pujan has been involved in club life at Baruch and served as Vice President and Senior Advisor for their Indian Students Association. He also had the opportunity to study abroad in Singapore for a semester. Now, Pujan will be joining Deloitte as Solutions Analyst – Software Developer full time after graduation.

Rachel Desir ’24 (Queens College) is graduating with a B.A. in Communication Sciences & Disorders and a double minor in Psychology and Cities & Social Medicine. She will be pursuing an M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology in the fall, making her one step closer to becoming a medical SLP!

Idrees Ilahi ’24 (Brooklyn) is graduating with a 3.88 GPA. During his time at Brooklyn College, Idrees founded the TREEage Club, which is a chapter of the parent climate justice organization. Idrees is a CUNY SPH 4+1 Student, and will go on to complete his MPH in Epidemiology and Biostatistics while working full-time as a community organizer for TREEage. Idrees was also a Peer Mentor for four semesters and studied abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Yori Xhumari ’24 (City College) is graduating in the top 10% of CCNY’s 2024 graduating class as a Phi Beta Kappa inductee. Yori will graduate from the Honors Program in Legal Studies as a Milbank Scholar. Yori will also be completing her final summer as a Jeanette K. Watson fellow in Turkey following graduation!

Emma Sassouni ’24 (Baruch) is graduating magna cum laude with a BBA in Accounting. Emma is extremely grateful for her time here, having had the privilege to meet and work alongside amazing friends and faculty. She is especially thankful for the Macaulay Scholars Council, Hillel at Baruch, and Financial Women’s Association – and of course her time abroad! Emma is excited to celebrate with friends and family this summer and to travel before starting full-time at EY Parthenon in the fall.

Mohammad Mustafa ’24 (Brooklyn) is a first-generation Pakistani and the first college graduate in his family. He has presented his expire to Macaulay’s Foundation Board, completed a medical internship in Morocco through CSI, and presented his senior thesis on Echos of Musical Innovation in Jazz at the National Conference of Undergraduate Research. He is graduating this May with a 3.5 GPA and a Biology B.S..

Kristine Sabo ’24 (Hunter) is graduating with a double major in Clinical Psychology and Studio Art. During her time at Hunter, she has contributed to cutting-edge research in three labs (Dr. Oberlin: Lehman, Dr. Suzuki: NYU, and SIP Study: Queens College) where she has gained experience in neuropsychology, physiological psychology, and psychological assessments. Outside of school, she became a national figure skating competitor. Kristine will head off to get her masters in Clinical Psychology.

Alex Dasent ’24 (Hunter) is graduating with a 3.6 GPA, a B.A. in Political Science, and a minor in Sociology. After working for the New York City Law Department for nearly two years, Alex will continue his post-grad journey working as a Trial Preparation Assistant at the Bronx District Attorney’s Office. He will pursue a law degree in the coming years.

Jazmin Ortiz ’24 (Baruch) is graduating an entire year early with a 3.8 GPA after taking many extra classes. She will now be pursuing her own business named “Euphoric Esthetics” that provides a safe space for LGBTQ+ individuals to receive self care services.

Julian Reich ‘24 (Hunter) is graduating with a 3.87 GPA and has been accepted into the Georgetown University Security Studies M.A. program.

Mia Carranza ‘24 (Hunter) is graduating with a BA in Creative Writing and Spanish Translation & Interpretation. Mostly notably, Mia was Vice President of Macaulay SCRIBE, named a Meyer Scholar, and studied abroad in Ecuador for three weeks.

Following graduation, Mia looks forward to continuing her role as Outreach & Partnership Assistant at CENTRO, the Center for Puerto Rican Studies at Hunter College. She is also excited to travel and further her education in the near future.

Annabella Li ’24 (Hunter) is graduating with a minor in Linguistics and double majors in Psychology and Chinese Language & Literature. Annabella aspires to become a speech-language pathologist and will continue pursuing this post graduation. She will be completing a Masters in Science – Dual Certification program in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Teachers College, Columbia University.
