Fariha Hanif 2023 Macaulay at City College

Fariha Hanif is a Psychology Major with a Biology Minor on the pre-med track. Currently, she works as a Medical Scribe in the Emergency Department at New York Presbyterian Queens and as a research assistant at CUNY ASRC under Dr. Patrizia Casaccia.

In Fall 2021, she became the Vice President of CCNY CHiMP, a mentorship program for honors freshman at CCNY, and worked her way up to being the president of CHiMP in 2022-2023. Alongside her commitment to CHiMP, she has also been a part of Macaulay Against Cancer’s fundraising efforts from 2020-2022 as their social media manager.

During the pandemic, Fariha tutored young children virtually in English and Math and was a research assistant to Dr. Christine Nittrouer at Texas Tech University for a focused project on diversity and inclusion.

As a pre-med student, Fariha has seen many health disparities in her own community, motivating her to pursue her MPH through the Macaulay 4+1 program offered with CUNY SPH. In the next year, Fariha plans to complete her MPH and apply for medical school while working as a medical scribe.
